So, after a few weeks at an auto-paint sprayer...the strippers are back.

So, Mr Darwin has been taking up pretty much my every waking hour. Not that I'm complaining - I like being busy. But it has meant I've been über-slack on the old picture updates.

I've had SUCH a relaxing weekend. Food, sex, sleep - what more could a girl want??

On Thurs I went out for our monthly get-together I have with friends from Uni. Because we're all ex-art students, we always end up making something after dinner. It all started with the wee wrappers off after-dinner mints etc. and has escalated! It is great fun. This ( Read more... )

So..still no water at work. Day two of zero water. No fun. First thing this morning we dipped into the flood and flushed the toilets with buckets. But then they started pumping out the hole, so we lost our only supply of water (apart from our water cooler!).

So...here's an interesting bucket. Erm..yeah.

Some people just need to get over themselves and realise that we're all the same underneath, and there's no need to be a wanker who thinks they're some sort of superior being when in fact they're just an emotionally and socially stunted wanker.

I haven't done piccy a day for a bit, cos we're just doing same-old same-old in the workshop. Come Monday I think we're laying out the tree, so I'll take pics then.

Went to work today - and London is faaaaaaaaaar snowier than Brighton now. Salty air and warm coastal temps mean ours has gone - but in London, there's loadsa snow still. Made the journey to work super-treacherous. No one has even attempted to clear anything on our estate. Black ice everywhere. eeep!!

I washed Alfie this morning. He hates me now, but the sink was kinda full of grime afterward. I used a j cloth, a toothbrush and some gentle handwash stuff. I've hair dried him gently, squeezed him up in towels and now he's on a towel on the radiator, being slowly rotated! So the answer to yesterday's question is that iron reacts with tannins to form a dark black substance - so Oak, being rich in tannins, plus iron, plus the moisture in the tree would stain the wood dark black.
